About Dr. Avril Salter

      With over 20 years of experience in the wireless communications and IT industry, Dr. Avril Salter is known as one of the world's leading experts in implementing wireless technologies and mobile services. She is one of the rare individuals that can combine market and strategic acumen, with in-depth technical expertise, which spans both wireless and computing technologies. This has given Dr. Salter's a reputation for solving wireless and IT problems where others are baffled.

      Dr. Salter has worked on many cutting edge technologies. She has deployed wireless IT solutions for financial, manufacturing and retail industries. She was part of the first GSM phone call in 1991. As well as the first CDMA installations in 1995. She worked on the ubiquitous 802.11 Wi-Fi technology. And has advised and consulted with Cisco engineers on Wi-Fi since 1998. In 2004 she helped create the emerging OFDM/MIMO broadband wireless technology used in Wi-Fi, WiMAX and LTE.

      Today, Dr. Salter provides content development and in-depth lab based technical training on wireless and TCP/IP networking. She has written and published technical papers and books for Dell, IEEE, HP Press, Intel, iPass, Microsoft, Petri, and the encyclopedia of Telecommunications. Her technical courses include:

      Dr. Salter received her B.S. in Mathematics from the University of London and her Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Reading, UK. She is a Stanford alumni. Her industry certifications include CCNP-W and CCNA-S.
